Step Inside the Moonlit Manor

Lisa Abridello has provided us with a peek inside her gorgeous home, specifically her dark and sumptuous living room. Filled with rich colours and textures, not to mention vintage curios and Halloween collectables, this room could be described as a spooky vintage lover’s dream come true.
Can you tell me a bit about your choice of decor? Is there anything in particular that speaks to you about the items you choose?
Most of the furnishings and decor in our home are vintage. I love the quality and uniqueness that vintage stuff has to offer that for me modern stuff tends to lack. Plus, keeping cool shit out of landfills feels really good. Also, I absolutely love to go treasure hunting!
As far as Halloween decor goes, I’m definitely more into vintage/ vintage inspired stuff. I started collecting right when I got my first place at 19 and never looked back. I kept my collections to a minimum for years because I moved so much. Once I gratefully became a homeowner at 37 it was freaking game on!
How did you settle on a dark colour for the room?
We had painted our only bathroom black in our last home and I loved it so much that when we bought this home, I couldn’t wait to just go for it and paint the whole main part of the home black. I’m so glad I went with my instincts because I truly do love it! I find it to be super cozy and enveloping. I love the way art pops off of it too.
Speaking of art, I never intended on having so many vintage ship paintings but once we bought one, we kept finding more and more that we liked and couldn’t stop buying them.
